The IMBES Trainee Board is excited to announce our next Ask-Me-Anything guest: Dr. David Mellor. David is the Director of Policy Initiatives at the Center for Open Science, where he works to improve scientific rigor by aligning scientific incentives in publishing and funding with the scientific ideal of transparency. Implementing practices covered by the Transparency and Openness Promotion (TOP, cos.io/top) Guidelines include specifying in advance how data will be collected and analyzed with preregistration (cos.io/prereg), conducting peer review before results are known with Registered Reports (cos.io/rr), and signaling adherence to best practices with badges (cos.io/badges). David received his Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolution from Rutgers University. His research interests cover the behavioral ecology of cichlid fish, citizen science, and reproducibility.
Our meeting with the Dr. Mellor will take place on 9am PDT on Wednesday, August 7th Trainees are encouraged to attend and submit questions ahead of time by following the link here. For those who can't attend, we will be recording the conversation and will share it after the event.
